I studied interior architecture at the Department of Fine Arts and Architecture at Bilkent University, Ankara. As a second major I attended and got my undergraduate diploma from Cinema and Television Department at Anadolu University where I studied especially in visual design and video art.

I have always been painting and had my first solo exhibition in 2010 in İstanbul. My choice of paint is sometimes oil and mostly acrylic. I enjoy experimenting with various contemporary materials like fabrics, fiber and acetate and also produce video-art works as well.

Most of my work reflects my experiences in big cities. Istanbul being the central location of my life for the past 20 years is a metropolis and is a beautiful yet demanding city because of its size and crowds. I try to paint the layers of physical buildings and layers of different cultures that are on top of each other in this megacity. I literally paint layers upon layers of colors with different textures to represent the feelings the city creates.

All the big cities around the world are created by destroying the nature. Maybe not in the immediate location but the development of metropoli destroy nature somewhere else. My work is a criticism of this destruction, and in the layers of cities I paint, I try to show this contrast. I want a greener world, a world where humans can live in harmony with nature.
